What's the general opinion on this option?

Searched and found one success story any one else go down this route?

Half the price from the my Citroen site but don't want to brick the unit or cause more pain

Although my car was used it came with 5 years free updates (3 years to run) and I have updated mine twice with no or very little difference. Personally I wouldn't just in case it was corrupted (not deliberately) There are Citroen/Peugeot forums out there when they can be found for free.

I didn't get that privilege unfortunately

My sat nav is on 2013 map and has roundabouts that no longer exist and things like the mere bypass don't exist

The sellers state you get a link to code to access the Citroen update site linked to yiur VIN am wondering if its a dealership

That's correct. When I did it on my Cactus via a forum I had to generate a code I needed to put when installing via usb. Keep in mind if you install all the maps it takes a long long time, if you install just the U.K. maps it's a lot quicker but can still take a good 10 minutes or a tad longer. The sellers notes will probably state but if not that you have to keep the engine running.
