Hi All
My first post & just after a small piece of advice. I Have to decide which to go for the options are:

1.6 HDI DStyle on a 12 plate in Silver, 5,000 miles or the 2.0 HDI DStyle (135) 9,000 miles in bourraaque Blue same age.Coming from an Insignia ST CDTI (160) I feel the the 1.6 may be a little under powered.I have test driven a 1.6 & it seemed quiet nippy
Thanks All
Oh by the way I have give an answer on the 1.6 1st thing

Hi and welcome.
I thought the same about the 1.6 and couldn't understand the 135 because it was cheaper but appeared to have the same mpg and performance as the 160 . I decided to have the 2.0 hdi 160 and don't regret it . The 160 is more popular so I would look around andtry a160 .

2.0L hdi 160, its spot on, plenty of go and wont break the bank, Tax is only £120 does about 40 to the gallon and keeps up with most things.

My 2L HDi 160 gets about 50mpg around town so I wouldn't bother thinking of the smalle engine, as has been said before the 160 is more popular

The 160 is the best engine and touches 200bhp when chipped. This is same engine Ford use in their Galaxy / Focus and SMax in both 138 and 163 versions.

If you cannot get one of them, from your choice I would plump for the 1.6HDI 112bhp as it is a much lighter engine about 60kgs so offsets its power loss somewhat. It will be cheaper on fuel and also tax and insurance I suspect.

I got the 2.0L HDI, and it's lush. Iv driven the 1.6L and it just doesn't have that pull in the engine when u accelerate. X

Good choice

I was driving a 1.6 hdi 90 DS3 before my 2.0 hdi 160. Once the warranty has run out on mine I'm getting it remapped. I got 55mpg the other day so you'll also get good fuel economy.

Enjoy

What colour is it? Looks a little darker than mine. If you have your car mapped/chipped after the warranty runs out, would that void the insurance if your in an accident.? X

Hi
Colour is Bourrasque Blue & yes if you get it mapped it would void your insurance unless you've told them I hada DTUK Red box on my Insignia & it caused no end of problems with the DPF

Like any mod tell your insurance company and you'll be covered. Swift Cover won't cover a remap so always check first. Specialist insurers are the best option.
