You have to be a bit carefull what you pick, yes they are 501 type but the bulb holders are very restrictive as to which bulbs will fit. I have used thesehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290617035424?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 as they fit the holder. I put them in the main interior lights too.
Been thinking of changing these myself but wasn't sure how they would react to the dimming function as they switch on/off!!!
I believe they won't dim, just come on or go off. Can you confirm this GazDs?
x2 30cm blue Led strips off te'bay,x10 tie wraps, twin core speaker wire & run the cable to each of the footwell lights splice in.Pop the elastic from under both seats to gain access to the seat backs, make some small holes in the material to pass the tie wraps through
I don't think you need canbus bulbs for the interior as they are not monitored by the canbus system, well they weren't on the Insignia !!! I fitted the one's in you're 1st link but in white to the number plate lights on the insignia and the got very warm & had burn makes around the base of the led's I fitted some red led's in the insignia but they weren't very bright & it started to resemble a brothel
Popped the bulb holder back, slotted the light in, dragged Hannah ( my 10 year old) away from the PS3 to press the pedal Opps...... not bright enough so they've replaced the reverse bulbs & give a much better light & match the led number plate lights.
