This does not sound too good, hopefully you have just got some bad fuel in it, please keep us in the picture, hopefully it will clear itself with the next tank full of fuel

Had a similar problem on my DS3Turned out to be a faulty temp sensor if I remember right.

I have had the same with the cooling fan. Bizarre. I never heard the fan cut in during the Summer but had a couple of occasions this Winter when it was very cold, (air temperature), and I had just driven 2 - 3 miles, the fan cut in and stayed on for a few minutes after the engine was switched off. Dealer said the same as yours .. NFF (no Fault Found).

Is the 'judder', a judder or like a flat spot/almost stall ? Mine ( 1.6HDi EGS), has a massive hesitation at low speeds, when, for example, approaching a roundabout and then you see it is clear and put your foot down, momentarily there is nothing there , then whoosh. Same applies at higher speeds, if you want to accelerate hard from a steady speed, it has this stall while it sorts out the gears and changes down. It is very off putting and can land you in trouble, as, instead of accelerating, it loses momentum for a couple of seconds. I was happy to put up with these idiosyncrasies when I thought I was going to get fantastic fuel economy .. but that is another story. By the way , mine has also suffered from diesel waxing - a few weeks ago .. the engine management light and traction control light came on simultaneously. There was a 'permanent' loss of power .. couldn't do more than 50mph. Dealer charged £167 for a new fuel filter ( serviced about 3 weeks earlier). Dealer blamed fuel saying the fuel was probably not Winter fuel ( which has an additive to lower the waxing temp). Outside temp was not that low .. about Zero deg C when it happened.

Re the fuel waxing do you buy your fuel at a supermarket or a main stream garage ie shell/bp etc, there has been a lot in the papers last year regarding supermarket fuel not having the correct additives at least in the northeast, there were reports regarding morrisons and asda. I have used shell for about the last 6 years and had no problems, this petrol but my previous 2 cars were deisel

i will keep an eye on that, i thought that too

no it's a judder but so random
just the first second when you touch accelerator then it fine
soon as you take foot off and the re apply same thing

never happened at all yesterday totally smooth
today did it on way to shops then 5 minutes later on way home it was fine
very strange

as for fuel, i have been in several car clubs over the years and heard some horror stories about supermarket fuels and as a result only ever use fuel like shell

odd pence more but cars seem to deffo run smoother and odd mpg up on cheap stuff..

No divvent buy from supermarket - only buy the 'best' BP or Shell. In this case it was BP.

If you are heavy footed could it be the traction control cutting in ?

The hesitation you describe , is it like your car is taking a deep breath before changing down followed by changing up to early ? if so it needs a software upgrade from Citroen

Exactly and I am soooooooooo fed up up complaining about it. I had the software upgrade about 3months after I got the car Oct 11 and it did improve it a bit . It was serviced (again) in November 12 and Dealer says No Fault Found. I had a problem with slipping gears early in January (after diesel waxing problem in December), and it was given another software upgrade but this hesitation whilst the gearbox /engine sort themselves out persists.

I had the same problem , not with a Citroen but the same type of gearbox . The dealer kept saying no fault till the clutch failed every time I was in start stop traffic , very dangerous and embarrassing . The problem for my dealer was that the problem cleared itself every time the ignition was turned off .

Hi Dug,

I have the DS4 THP 200 Sport model and the stuttering you mention is very similar to what mine is doing, when I drive the car steady at about 2000 revs when your only just touching the accelerator it stutters/judders. I also have had mine into Citroen who have told me its normal for my model and its the turbo kicking in. I have emailed a few Citroen specialists who confirm this is not normal and that it should drive smooth. I have also test driven another model exactly the same as mine and it didn't do it. I just wanted to know did you manage to sort out your problem and if so what was the cause.

Many thanks
