Need to change my motor!

Looking at a 2012 1.6hdi but have one MAJOR concern...

Have seen very mixed reports on the fuel efficiency of this particular model Vs brochure

Anyone have any insight on what people are actually getting?

I appreciate any info on this - thank you

I cant speak on behalf of this specific Model but my 2.0 HDI gets considerably lower than the book, by about 10mpg. Have heard other people have had similar issues
I average about 44-48mpg Still not that bad though
Get it bought, its not just about the mpg

True...enjoyment is important too, just nervous of unchartered waters i guess!

The thing is you can't really compare as there are too many variables. Weight is a big one. If you haul a couple of big adults up hill and down dale in Cumbria you'll get a LOT less than an 8 stone driver commuting down the M5. All the published figures will do is give you a guide to comparing cars.

Can't give you my exact figures. But I'd fill my Passat 4 times a month. My DS4 it's 3 times in 2 months. That's good enough for me.
