Washed the DSport last night and noticed her indoors had kerbed it...

Cant see how though as the tyre bead is really raised so she must have whacked it pretty hard. I don't get to drive it as I work from home and it's only her.

19" Cairns so guessing is a new one or a bad paint job. They are not diamond cut at least.

Anyone know the price of a new one?

Why go for a bad paint job. If I were you, I'd get a good paint job instead which would look a lot better and never know it happened

I was told the dsport 19" wheels were diamond cut so I don't know how easy they are to repair.
I think a new one is near £500

The only ones I've seen refurbed are 'bad paint jobs' in that they don't match exactly. They all look black and not the dark grey/anthracite of the original.

I can confirm the silver parts of the Cairns 19" are painted and not diamond cut. Thats the bit that is chipped where it 'caressed' the kerb. The diamond cut ones are on the DStyle IIRC

DEE ES 4 ... if thats an original then great! ....awaiting response from enquiry.

Definately need to find a better repairer then :)

I kerbed my wheel two days ago annoyingly :( took a wider turn then normal to avoid a parked car on a road driven on thousands of times . Annoying or what. Edited by: Hoovie

Feel your pain for sure - I'm still hoping the one I kerbed develops corrosion where it hasn't been kerbed!

Diamond cut? If so, check very carefully around the valve hole and where the centre cap fits in. They usually go there as the lacquer coat is so thin and the centre caps don't get carefully placed in the factory, they get banged in

PS. This is not a Citroen issue, this is an industry issue which has been made worst with the profusion of diamond cut wheels. All manufacturers are getting early corrosion issues much more then the past.

Really love to keep a car 'as new' and this really hurts ... had the car for just over 12 months and was... is... still clear of anything like dents scratches etc... just get drawn to the kurb'ige and knots me up.

Previous to the DSport I had a Clio172 for 11 years and sold it to a mate who had it recently MOT'd and the bloke asked him if it had been garaged for the last 10 years as it was mint.... wish i'd kept it purely for the smile it put on your face.

Used to love the 172 although I never had one, I had a Seat Ibiza Cupra for a while - problem was it ended up in the garage more than it was on the road - just before I sold it someone opened their door onto the front wing putting a visible crease in it <grr>.

Have had the other three recently done under warranty - the only one that didn't show was, you guessed it the kerbed one!

Hi,
When I bought my car one of the wheels was kerbed and they managed to repair it. Not sure how much but had a DS3 previous and was quoted £90 for a repair so expect the 19" are about the same.

A lot cheaper than a new wheel I would have thought
