Hi There,
I own DS4 2011 and recently I've started hearing some kind of scraping noise that I couldn't pinpoint exactly so decided to change my front and rear brake pads and discs only to find out that this was not the issue as that scaping noise still persists, similar noise can be heard when the clutch pedal is pressed in.
I was told by a local mechanic that the entire clutch needs to be replaced as bearing is gone.
My question to you is, do I really need to change the entire clutch only because of 1 bearing???

Thanks
Regards

The bearing is what spins when you press the clutch to keep it disengaged. It's right in the centre of the clutch so the gearbox needs seperated to replace it. When the gearbox is off then it's 5 minutes to change a clutch.

Normal practice is to change the cluch itself as most of the cost in in the labour, an extra £100 for the clutch means it'll be good for another 100k miles or more.
